HONORS

White House visit

Morgan Tracey, a 1999 graduate of Champion High School, was honored last week at the White House for her work building homes for low-income families as part of AmeriCorps, serving as firefighter with the U.S. Forest Service, and other activities.

She passed the bar exam in 2010 and is part of the United States National Skeleton Program, training at the Lake Placid Olympic Training Center in Lake Placid, N.Y. with a goal of competing in the Winter Olympics.

Morgan was honored as one of 12 AmeriCorps alums who are “Champions of Change.” Such leaders demonstrate how AmeriCorps alumni have leveraged their national service experience to become influential in their careers and leaders in their communities, according to a press release from the White House.
