Power out for 2,400

About 2,400 homes in Campbell and Lowellville lost power for about hour Thursday night, Ohio Edison reported. Power went out from 8:20 to 9:20 p.m. as a result of equipment failure. No injuries were reported.

Target gives to schools

YOUNGSTOWN

Target’s “Give With Target” program is giving K-12 schools up to $10,000 each in Target gift cards for books or any supplies needed. Individuals who want to help can go to https://givewith.target.com/ and vote for a school each week. Many public and private schools in the Mahoning Valley are participating and individuals can search for a particular school at the Give with Target website.

For every 25 votes a school receives, Target will send a $25 gift card.

Teen reports assault

WARREN

An 18-year-old Haymaker Road Northwest man told police he was assaulted and his state identification card taken at the corner of Taylor Street and Parkman Road Northwest early Wednesday.

The man said he was walking home just after 5 a.m. from an early-hours business when nine people, all dressed in black clothes and wearing green bandannas over their faces, assaulted him.

They hit and kicked him in his head and body and took something from his pocket, he told police.

The man, who had numerous scrapes on his back, knees and elbows, refused medical treatment.

Facing more charges

YOUNGSTOWN

A Struthers man previously indicted by a Mahoning County grand jury on sexual charges related to children faces more charges. The grand jury indicted James Fetty, 54, of Poland Avenue, in July on charges of rape, gross sexual imposition, disseminating matter harmful to juveniles, importuning and pandering sexually oriented matter involving a minor.

On Thursday, the grand jury brought a superseding indictment against Fetty listing more counts of the same charges. He now faces a total of 60 counts. The indictment alleges Fetty had sexual contact with one juvenile and presented obscene material to another underage girl.

Police seek robber

Police continue looking for a man who robbed the Kwik Fill store on Youngstown-Poland Road at 9:54 p.m. Wednesday.

The clerk told police a man in a mask entered the store and demanded money. She told him the register was empty. He was carrying a backpack and kept his hand inside, saying he had a gun, she told police.

She said he stopped threatening her when he saw she had an infant in a stroller with her. He said he would not hurt her; he just wanted money, she said. He grabbed numerous packs of cigarettes and fled on Sexton Street, police said.
