ALLIANCES
Ohio Cultural Alliance will celebrate its 26th anniversary at 6 p.m. Sept. 10 with a dinner at Los Gallos Banquet Room, 685 Boardman-Canfield Road, Boardman. Those attending are requested to take nonperishable items for St. Vincent de Paul Society soup kitchen. Memberships cost $25 per person for September 2012 through June 2013, and cost of each meeting is $15 for members and $20 for nonmembers. CLASSES
Wilson High School Class of 1953 will meet for lunch at 11:30 a.m. Monday at Johnny’s. Guests are welcome.
CLUBS
Columbiana and Mahoning County Beekeepers Association will meet Sunday at the home of Don Kovacs’ parents, 322 S. Turner Road, Austintown. A potluck lunch at 1 p.m. will precede the meeting at 2 with a bottling party to prepare for the Canfield Fair. Members are asked to take their own chairs.
That Quilt Group I Belong To will have a “jelly roll race” at its monthly meeting Tuesday at Fair Park in Canfield. Doors open at 5:30 p.m., and the program begins at 6:30. Members should take a fabric “jelly roll” prepared according to instructions provided at last month’s meeting, a sewing machine and supplies. Warren Women’s Connection is sponsoring a “Refuse to Be a Victim” luncheon from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Sept. 10 at DiLucia’s Banquet Room, 2610 Elm Road NE. Pam Karousis, a self-defense instructor, will give tips on staying safe. Music will be provided by Janet Frank and Beth Austin, and the inspirational speaker will be Faye Ruble on “Happily Ever After ... Fairytale or Reality?” The cost is $13 per person.
