Brandy Marie Prusak, 19, was crowned National American Miss Ohio on July 30 in Columbus. She was selected to represent Ohio at the 2012 National American Miss Pageant at Disneyland in Anaheim, Calif., during Thanksgiving week.

Prusak is a sophomore at the University of Akron, where she is studying biology and premedicine to pursue a career as a dermatologist.

She holds the Senate Resolution 296 based on academics and community service. She is a member of National Honor Society, Women’s Auxiliary of VFW, March of Dimes, Locks of Love, Mahoning Chapter of the Red Cross and Mahoning County Young Democrats. She is the daughter of Frank and Jill Prusak of Lowellville.
