Wilson-Stiver golf outing planned

COITSVILLE

A golf outing will take place Aug. 26 at Bedford Trails to benefit the families of Gary Wilson and Ken Stiver, who died as a result of an explosion March 1 at the Struthers Waste Water Treatment Plant.

Lunch will be served at noon prior to the shotgun scramble at 1:30 p.m. Dinner at 6 p.m. will follow play.

The event, which is organized by a group of friends, will include a basket auction featuring a flat-screen TV, a bike, golf clubs and much more. Tickets for the auction will be sold throughout the day.

The cost for golfers is $75 per person and $300 per team. Dinner is $20 per person for non-golfers. Applications for golf and dinner tickets can be purchased at Rip’s Cafe, 614 Youngstown-Poland Road, Struthers, or by calling 330-755-0057.

Golfers also will have the chance to win a two-year lease on a 2012 Chevy Cruze with a hole-in-one on a predetermined hole. There will be cash payouts to the top three teams.

The first 32 paid foursomes will be eligible for the scramble. Dinner reservations should be made no later than Saturday.
