The Numbers Band, formally known as 15 60 75, will play at 9 p.m. Sept. 8 at Peacehouse, 204 Broadway Avenue at Elm Street, on Wick Park on the North Side.
The event is a fundraiser for Peacehouse and is part of the PoliteSavage Performances for Peace Series. Tickets are $30 ($25 for Peace Action Youngstown members), and paid reservations are required. Call 330-747-5404, or email therese@paytown.org.
The Kent-based Numbers Band is led by Robert Kidney, who recently won a Lifetime Achievement Award from the 2012 Cleveland Art Prize, a non-profit group that has championed the arts, artists and cultural caretakers of the region for more than 45 years.
“We are not interested in making hits,” said Kidney in a recent interview published in Creem Magazine. “We are interested in making history.”
The Numbers Band has been praised by many national music publications and several international ones for its uncategorizable music and its disregard for music trends and profits.
