‘Snow White’ sequel plans are uncertain

NEW YORK

Universal Pictures still is pursuing a sequel to “Snow White and the Huntsman” in the wake of Kristen Stewart’s affair with the film’s director.

Universal co-chairman Donna Langley said in a statement Wednesday that the studio is “currently exploring all options to continue the franchise” and that reports of Stewart’s exit “are false.”

Since Stewart, who played Snow White in the film, and Rupert Sanders, the married, 41-year-old director of the film last month publicly apologized for a tryst caught in photographs, the future of “Snow White” has been uncertain.

Kardashian divorce faces likely delays

LOS ANGELES

Kim Kardashian’s divorce has engulfed her family and network.

Attorneys for her estranged husband sought detailed records Wednesday about her reality shows and details of depositions with her mother and current boyfriend Kanye West to prove her 72-day marriage to NBA player Kris Humphries was a fraud.

The legal bickering means it’s unlikely the couple will be granted a divorce, or annulment, as Humphries desires, before next year, attorneys and a judge said during a testy hearing.

Kardashian’s attorney Laura Wasser accused Humphries’ team of overreaching in the effort that already has resulted in $250,000 in legal fees for the model-actress.

The acrimony over the breakup led lawyers for Humphries to recently try to serve West with a deposition subpoena — disguised in a Nordstrom’s box — at Kardashian’s home.

Humphries’ attorney Marshall Waller said the lack of cooperation from West’s attorneys and companies that work on Kardashian’s reality show were delaying the case.

Abby Elliott exiting ‘SNL’ after 4 seasons

NEW YORK

After four seasons, Abby Elliott is not returning to “Saturday Night Live.”

Her exit was first reported Wednesday by the comedy website Splitsider. NBC declined to comment, but a source familiar with casting changes at the show confirmed Elliott’s departure.

Though not as central of a cast member, Elliott adds to the high-profile departures of Kristen Wiig and Andy Samberg from the sketch institution.

Her exit also concludes a rare “SNL” legacy: Elliott’s father, Chris Elliott, was a cast member for the 1994-95 season.

The 38th season of “Saturday Night Live” premieres Sept. 15.

Officials did not provide any details about the cause of the 91-year-old’s hospitalization, which follows two other health scares.
