Police arrested one man and confiscated drugs, paraphernalia and a gun during a raid on the city’s South Side.

Dawan Williams, 26, of LaBelle Avenue, is being held in the Mahoning County jail on a $27,500 bond.

Williams is charged with possession of cocaine, possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

Williams appeared before Magistrate Anthony Sertick of Youngstown Municipal Court on Wednesday for arraignment.

Prosecutors told the court that Williams has past criminal charges including assault, domestic violence, receiving stolen property, criminal damaging and possession of marijuana.

Police went to the home at 135 LaBelle Ave. just after 5 p.m. Tuesday where they found Williams sitting on a couch in the living room.

Near the area where Williams was sitting was one large bag of suspected marijuana, 50 small bags of suspected crack cocaine and a handgun.

Police also found a digital scale with what they said had suspected cocaine residue on it, in the kitchen.

A 25-year-old female inside the house was not arrested.
