Search for suspect in robbery continues

Police are trying to determine who robbed the Dollar General Store on Canfield Road.

According to police, a white male with a medium build wearing black shorts, a gray shirt and white tennis shoes entered the store just after 10:30 a.m. Monday and walked around for a few moments.

The man eventually walked to the checkout counter and placed some candy on the counter. The man paid for the candy, and as the 18-year-old clerk completed the transaction, the man placed a note on the counter demanding all the money from the cash register.

The cashier handed over about $100, and the man ran out of the store, leaving behind the note.

Police searched the area immediately around the store, but could not find anyone matching the man’s description. Police took the note as evidence and collected video surveillance from the store.
