Police find explosive chemicals in dead man’s home
NEW BRITAIN, Pa. (AP) — Investigators responding to a 911 call about an unresponsive person discovered a cache of explosive chemicals inside the dead man’s suburban Philadelphia home.
Police in New Britain Township, Bucks County say they removed a number of chemicals used in explosives production from the home of 34-year-old Christopher Kanter on Tuesday.
Kanter was pronounced dead after being found unresponsive by his girlfriend and a guest. Emergency personnel discovered the chemicals after noticing an odd chemical smell.
New Britain Township police Chief Robert Scafidi says some of the chemicals were volatile and had to be detonated by a bomb squad. The rest were removed from the home.
Kanter’s death isn’t considered suspicious.
