NBCUniversal is calling the London Olympics “the most-watched television event in U.S. history.” Citing Nielsen Co. ratings figures, the company has released the following statistics about its coverage:
v 219 million: The number of viewers who watched the Summer Games on NBC and its numerous sister networks.
v 215 million: The number of viewers who watched the 2008 Beijing Olympics.
v 31 million: The average number of prime-time viewers. This figure topped Summer Games viewerships in Beijing and in Athens in 2004.
v 31 million: The number of viewers who watched Sunday’s closing ceremony.
v 5,535: The number of hours of coverage presented by NBCUniversal across its TV and online channels.
Bluegrass-gospel concert at church

Disciples Christian Church, 565 Boardman-Canfield Road (across from Get-Go), will host a free bluegrass-gospel concert on its lawn from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Aug. 24. Featured performers will be Dan Garrett and Limited Edition.
Bring a blanket or lawn chair. The event will move inside the church if it rains.
Refreshments will be sold with proceeds benefiting Habitat for Humanity.

Ghost Walk seeks actors, volunteers

The Fine Arts Council of Trumbull County will have auditions for its annual Ghost Walk, which will be Oct. 12, 13, 26 and 27.
Actors are needed to play ghosts. Auditions will be from 1 to 3 p.m. Aug. 26, and from 6 to 8 p.m. Aug. 27, at the Fine Arts Council office, 170 N. Park Ave., on Courthouse Square. For information, email Mark Klinger at Mark.Klinger@me.com.
