Speaker to discuss wealth preservation

In the next local author series at 6:30 p.m. Aug. 23, at Newton Falls Public Library, 204 S. Canal St., nationally recognized estate planning attorney and family wealth counselor, Jack N. Alpern, co-author of “Total Wealth Management: The Definitive Guide to Estate and Financial Planning,” will speak about his newest book, “Legacy Wealth Planning: A Guide to Preserving Your Own Family Wealth.” Atty. Alpern has spoken throughout Ohio and around the country, including teaching classes at the prestigious Chautauqua Institution in western New York. He also appeared as a guest speaker for PBS Channels 45 and 49 in Akron. Register at 330-872-1282.
There will be a book discussion on “The Dirt on Clean: an Unsanitized History,” by Katherine Ashenburg, at 6 p.m. Aug. 29. Follow the history of the constantly changing concept of cleanliness from the ancient Greeks to the present day. Copies of the book are available for borrowing at the circulation desk. It is not necessary to finish the book to enjoy the evening.
