A summary of recent criminal activity in Canfield city and Austintown.
CANFIELD
July 25
Underage persons offenses: Margaret Pakalnis, 40, of 360 Deer Trail, Canfield, was arrested on a charge of sale of liquor to underage persons. Four teenagers, including two 18-year-olds, were arrested for underage consumption of alcohol.
Fraudulent charges: Fraudulent charges to a credit card of $50 was reported at a home in the 400 block of Bradford Drive.
Drug abuse: Giana Malvasi, 19, of 132 Timber Run Drive, Canfield, was arrested on charges of drug abuse of heroin and marijuana and drug paraphernalia and Robert Koby, 21, of 6010 Deer Spring Run, Canfield, was arrested on a charge of drug abuse of heroin.
Drug paraphernalia: Cassandra Manypenney, 18, of 6561 W. Calla Road, Canfield, was arrested on a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia.
Aug. 4
Fraudulent charges: Fraudulent charges on a credit card were reported at a home in the 500 block of Brookpark Drive.
Aug. 5
Unwanted calls: Unwanted, annoying phone calls were reported at Dairy Queen,101 S. Broad Street, when the male called four times and asked for money.
Aug. 6
Warrant: Ziara Marshall, 22, of 427 Winchester Ave., Youngstown, was arrested on a Youngstown warrant for failure to appear.
Aug. 9
Warrant: Donald Beck, 70, of 4982 Warren-Sharon Road, Vienna, was arrested on a felony warrant out of Trumbull County.
Aug. 11
Drug abuse: Gabriel Page, 25, of 4654 Englesson N.W., Warren, was arrested on a charge of drug abuse of marijuana.
AUSTINTOWN
Aug. 6
Theft: A camera was stolen from an auto at a home in the 6000 block of Boulder Creek Drive.
Fraud: A debit card was used fraudulently at the Seven Seventeen Credit Union, 6460 Mahoning Ave.
Theft: Fixtures were stolen at a home in the 4000 block of Pembrook Road.
Theft: A debit card was stolen from an auto at Chippers Sports Bar, 5 N. Edgehill Ave.
Identity theft: Personal information was used to access an account and purchase phones at a home in the 100 block of N. Edgehill Avenue.
Breaking and entering: A concession trailer was broken into at College Park baseball field, 5706 Vassar Ave.
Theft: A car battery was stolen out of a vehicle at a home in the 40 block of E. Liberty St.
Fraud: A counterfeit check was reported at Mahoning County Court No. 4, 6000 Mahoning Ave.
Aug. 7
Criminal trespassing: James Allen, 31, of 137 Avondale Ave., Youngstown, was issued a summons for criminal trespassing.
Warrant: Brian Ward, 29, of 1188 Idaho Road, Austintown was arrested on a warrant for failure to appear on a criminal trespass charge and two counts of possession of dangerous drugs, including Alprazolam and Tramadol.
Recovered property: A bicycle was recovered at Watson Elementary School, 215 Idaho Road.
Breaking and entering: A fenced in area was entered and batteries were taken at Cerni Motors, 5751 Cerni Place.
Breaking and entering: Two units were entered at Blake’s Mini Storage, 2024 S. Raccoon Road.
Theft: A BP station attendant at 890 N. Canfield-Niles Road was short-changed.
Unauthorized use: A motor vehicle was taken without authorization but then returned at a home in the 6000 block of Winter Park Avenue.
Theft: A wallet was stolen at a home in the 1000 block of Lancaster Drive. The wallet was returned with all of it’s contents missing.
Fraud: A Farmer’s Bank debit card was compromised at an apartment in the 4000 block of Westchester Drive.
Aug. 8
Burglary: A screen was cut in an attempted burglary at a home in the 3000 block of Oakwood Avenue.
Warrant: Charles Purdy, 64, of 1208 Idaho Road, was arrested on a warrant for failure to appear on a charge of attempted theft.
Theft: Copper was stolen from a home in the 600 block of S. Canfield-Niles Road.
Disorderly conduct: Stephanie Mackall, 36, of 1787 Lancaster Drive, Austintown, was arrested on a charge of disorderly conduct at the Wedgewood Plaza, 1747 S. Raccoon Road.
Criminal damaging: A car was dented and scratched at Wal-Mart, 6001 Mahoning Ave.
Theft: A firearm, laptop and earrings were stolen from a home in the 20 block of Woodleigh Court.
Breaking and entering: A concession trailer was broken into at College Park baseball fields, 5706 Vassar Ave.
Drug offense: Antwain Mayes, 22, of 111 N. Navarre Ave., was arrested on a charge of drug abuse for possession of plastic bag of marijuana.
Telecommunications harassment: There is a suspect in a case of telecommunications harassment at a home in the 4000 block of Nantucket Drive.
Aug. 9
Warrant: Matieka Madison, 24, of 4587 Kirk Road, No. 3, was arrested for failure to appear on a traffic charge.
Theft: Approximately 100 Oxycontin-325 mg. were taken from a purse at Infocision, 5749 Interstate Blvd.
Theft: Copper was stolen from Precision of Ohio, 3850 Henricks Road.
Theft: Three handguns were stolen from a home in the 1000 block of S. Edgehill Avenue.
Theft: A suspect paid for $16 in gas and pumped $26 at BP, 5502 Mahoning Ave.
Burglary: The was no sign of forced entry in a burglary at an apartment in the 900 block of Compass West.
Assault: A juvenile was a victim of assault by another juvenile at Austintown Middle School, 800 S. Raccoon Road.
Aug. 10
Criminal damaging: A window was broken out at Lynn Kirk Elementary School, 4211 Evelyn Road.
Attempted burglary: Pry marks were made in attempt to break into an apartment in the 900 block of Compass West.
Drug abuse: Crystal Thompkins, 25, of 1876 Sheridan Ave., Warren was issued a summons for possession of marijuana.
Aug. 11
Criminal damaging: Several juveniles were involved in criminal damaging at a home in the 6000 block of Black Calvary Court.
Theft: A Kindle was reported stolen at Country Inn Suites, 5570 Interstate Blvd., but was later located.
Auto theft: A 1998 Chevrolet Blazer was stolen from a home in the 5000 block of W. Rockwell Road.
Telecommunications harassment: Calls and texts from a man separated from his wife were reported at Hillbrook apartments office, 478 S. Raccoon Road.
Theft: Five drainage gates were stolen at the Saxon Club, 710 S. Meridian Road.
Criminal damaging: A car was egged at a home in the 100 block of Cedarwood Drive.
Theft: A package was taken from the front porch of a home in the 300 block of Wilcox Road.
Theft: A shoplifter was reported at Walgreen’s, 3800 Tippecanoe Road.
Aug. 12
Recovered property: Two bikes were recovered at a home in the 5000 block of Kirk Road.
Assault: Michael Peoples, 28, of 3010 W. 115th St., Apt. 14, Cleveland, was issued a summons for disorderly conduct after an assault took place at Bill’s Place, 4771 Mahoning Ave.
Drug offense: Maurice Johnson, 22, of 1757 Sweet Brier St., N.W., Warren was issued a summons for possession of marijuana.
Theft: Change was stolen from an auto at a home in the 6000 block of Vernette Drive.
Criminal damaging: A mailbox was damaged at a home in the 500 block of Impala Drive.
Theft: A phone charger and GPS were stolen from a home in the 6000 block of Bowman Ave.
Attempted theft: Several males and females attempted to steal a large quantity of phones at Radio Shack, 6000 Mahoning Ave.
Theft: McKenzie Shongo, 3827 Forest Ridge Court, Mineral Ridge, was arrested on a charge of theft of eight DVD’s worth $192.06 at Giant Eagle, 5220 Mahoning Ave. She was also arrested on a warrant from Warren Municipal Court for petty theft.
Burglary: A burglary was reported at a home in the 4000 block of Kirk Road and an unknown male fled in a gray vehicle.
Aggravated robbery: Cash was taken from the BP gas station, 890 N. Canfield-Niles Road.
Assault: A pregnant female was assaulted and a gun pulled on her at a home in the 2000 block of Woodland Trace Street.
Burglary: A female juvenile is a suspect in a burglary at a home in the 5000 block of Argonne Drive.
