Inmate pleads guilty in jailhouse slaying plot
CLEARFIELD, Pa. (AP) — A western Pennsylvania man has been ordered to spend at least four years behind bars for trying to get a fellow inmate to kill his ex-wife, his current wife and his ex’s boyfriend.
Thirty-seven-year-old Jerry Lee Ritchey pleaded guilty last week to soliciting the killings while incarcerated at Clearfield County Jail on burglary charges.
Investigators say the Strattanville man was awaiting trial in the burglary case when he asked a fellow inmate to kill his ex-wife and her new boyfriend. Police say he later asked the man to kill his current wife, too.
WJAC-TV reports Ritchey provided the man with addresses and diagrams of homes as part of the plot.
Ritchey was also convicted and sentenced to at least four years in the burglary case.
