Doubledays pound Scrappers in first

AUBURN, N.Y.
The Auburn Doubledays pounced on Mahoning Valley Scrappers starter Jake Sisco for five runs in the first inning on Sunday’s 8-4 victory in New York-Penn League action.
Carloz Lopez hit a grand-slam while Shawn Pleffner had three hits and scored a run for the Doubledays.
Winning pitcher David Fischer (2-3) struck out five and walked none in the five innings he pitched.
Sisco (1-4) allowed another run in the third inning before he was lifted.
Joe Wendle, Mitch Nilsson, Charlie Valerio, Richard Stock and Evan Frazar doubled for the Scrappers.
Nilsson and Aaron Siliga had two hits apiece.
