The Davis YMCA in Boardman has hired Juleen Keefer as the new member services director. Keefer comes to the Y with more than 24 years of professional experience from Mahoning County Jobs and Family Services,SFlbwhere she was involved in case management, eligibility and family-stability services.

Station Square Restaurant in Liberty has been honored with Wine Spectator Magazine’s Award of Excellence for 2012. Wine Spectator Magazine annually compiles a list of the top restaurant wine lists across the country and the world, with only 1 percent of restaurants in the U.S. receiving the honor.

Health care

Lucy Burtner, a housekeeper and volunteer at the Shepherd of the Valley-Poland community was named employee of the month for July. In addition to her job duties, Lucy and her pug, Sheba, a certified therapy dog, volunteer at the Shepherd community. They participate in parades and parties, pass out treats and visit with the residents. Most recently, they helped with the SOV-Poland 40th anniversary celebration.

Dr. Brad M. Picha has joined Youngstown Orthopaedic Associates, the Mahoning Valley’s largest orthopedic surgery practice.

Dr. Picha, an orthopedic spine specialist whose practice focuses on the diagnosis and treatment of all disorders of the cervical, thoracic, lumbar and sacral spines, will start Aug. 27 in Youngstown Orthopaedic’s Building B at 1499 Boardman-Canfield Road after completing a fellowship at OrthoIndy, a 70-plus orthopedic specialist practice in Indianapolis.
