Musical programs

The fourth annual North Eastern Ohio Gospel Music Revival will be at 5 p.m. today at Rogers Assembly of God, 8251 Sprucevale Road.

Doors open at 4 with the youth group selling food and at 4:30 a piano prelude with Lynn Deeter.

The concert will feature Sons of Liberty, Nicholas Naylor, Redemption and Glorybound.

The event is free; an offering will be accepted.

Sons of Liberty will sing at the service at 10:30 a.m. Sunday.

Groening lecture

“Help and Healing on the Spiritual Path Through the Teachings of Bruno Groening” will be presented at 7 p.m. Aug. 20 at Lord of Life Lutheran Church, 550 S. Broad St.

The session is at, but is not affiliated with, the church.

The free 90-minute information lecture is sponsored by the Circle for Spiritual Aid to Life, based on the teachings of Groening, a German healer and teacher.

Ministries chapter

The Rev. Tim Stowe and his wife, Susan, will host a miracle and healing crusade when Youngstown Chapter of Igniting New Life Ministries, an interdenominational ministry, meets Aug. 20 at the Community Center (Stambaugh Room) in Boardman Park, 325 Boardman-Poland Road.

Fellowship will begin at 6:30 p.m. with ministry at 7.

The Rev. Mr. Stowe, a graduate of Rhema Bible School, is founder of Tim Stowe Evangelistic Ministries. The Stowes are from Warren, and have traveled extensively throughout the United States and abroad.

Special music will be provided by Martha Conyer.

Workshop planned

Dr. Jerome A. Jones will present a “Relationship. If It’s Right, then What’s Wrong with Mine?,” an order in the church altar worship series, from 9 a.m. to noon Aug. 18 at Hampton Inn and Suites, 6690 Ironwood Boulevard.

The workshop is presented by Issachar Solution, a consulting firm that works with churches.

Cost is $20 in class and $25 broadcast.

Greater Mahoning Valley District will present Auxiliaries in Ministry (AIM) Wednesday through Friday at Community Church of God in Christ, 310 Austin Ave., where Auston Shaw is pastor.

Speakers will be Pastor Wilbur Allen of All Saints COGIC in Canton on Wednesday; superintendent Ross Johnson of Bethel and Mount Zion COGIC in Youngstown on Thursday; and Pastor Quentin King of City Family Worship COGIC in Sandusky on Friday.

Programs are at 7 p.m.

Elder Robert E. Mitchell Jr. is district AIM chairman and minister of music.

There will be day classes Thursday and Friday.

Theology on Tap, Mahoning County Chapter, will attend Mass at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, the Feast of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, at St. Columba Cathedral, 154 W. Wood St.

Participants will meet from 7 to 9 p.m. at MVR Italian Restaurant and Bar, 410 N. Walnut St.

The discussion will focus on celebration of the feast day.

The group is geared to those 18 to 39 years old.

Pastor Heard is a member and past president of the Baptist Pastors Council of Youngstown and is president of the board of Alliance for Congregational Transformation Influencing Our Neighborhoods.

Guest speaker will be Everette Jennings, senior pastor of New Cathedral Life Church, Chicago.

Elizabeth’s Mass Choir and Gideon’s Army will minister in music and dance.

Labyrinth walk

Villa Maria Education and Spirituality Center will offer a guided labyrinth walk from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at Villa Maria Community Center.

The theme is “Path of Presence.”

The labyrinth is a tool for enriching the spiritual journey.

Labyrinths have existed for 4,000 years and are found in major religious traditions.

Sister Therese Pavilonis will offer a brief history and introduction.
