Vocal recital

West Branch High School Choral Department will present a vocal recital of students who have been studying voice throughout the summer. More than 50 students in grades 7 through 12 have participated in the weekly lesson program organized by choral director John Zamarelli.

A recital will at 1 p.m. Sunday at Salem First Presbyterian Church. Forty soloists will be accompanied by Carson Weingart, Kathy Miller and Zamarelli.

The recital is free and open to the public, and refreshments will be served after the program.

Cruise to car show

Leetonia Community Public Library will host a car show from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday. The first 20 cars will receive dash plaques and everyone who participates will be eligible to cast their vote for their favorite car.

There will be music, food, a 50/50 raffle and auction.

All proceeds will benefit the library.

Fake Fest on tap

On Aug. 18, Quaker Steak & Lube Austintown, 5800 Interstate Blvd., will present its first Fake Fest, a free daylong event with tribute bands. The line-up starts with AC/DC tribute band Night Prowler followed by the famous Beatles tribute band Abbey Road. Tributes to Stevie Nicks, Bob Segar, Jethro Tull and Tom Petty follow. After the sun goes down, the group Every Day America will present a light show as they sing some of the best lyrics of Sugarland. Finishing the evening will be closing act Pipe Dreams.
