Scrappers lose six-run lead, fall to Muckdogs in 11th

BATAVIA, N.Y.
Blowing a 6-0 second-inning lead, the Mahoning Valley Scrappers lost to the Batavia Muckdogs on Thursday when Roberto De La Cruz homered in the bottom of the 11th inning for a 7-6 victory.
Jack Wagoner (1-4) took the loss for the Scrappers (23-27) after pitching the final inning and a third.
Charlie Valerio and Joe Sever drove in runs in the first inning as the Scrappers jumped out to a 2-0 lead.
Valerio and Sever also drove in rusn during the Scrappers’ four-run second frame.
Valerio had three RBIs and his two hits included a double.
The Muckdogs (26-24) roared back with two runs in the second inning, three in the third and one in the sixth.
