Man shot after disciplining kids

WARREN

A 25-year-old Transylvania Avenue Southeast man suffered a gunshot wound to the upper arm at 5:20 p.m. Thursday from a man who fired a gun through his front door.

The victim said he told several children to stop climbing on a fence near his apartment, and the children went away.

The gunman showed up soon afterward, fired the gun from about three feet away, breaking the glass in his storm door, then casually walked away.

A witness said the shooter, a thin black male, about six feet tall with braided hair got into a maroon sport-utility vehicle after the shooting.

Another person in the car drove away.

The victim was treated at an area hospital.
