Jessica Hurd, Joe Meyer plan October nuptials

Gary and Kathy Hurd are announcing the engagement of their daughter, Jessica Hurd, to Joe Meyer, the son of Mark and Mary Ann Meyer. All reside in Boardman.

St. Christine Church in Youngstown will be the site of the couple’s noon wedding Oct. 13. An evening reception will take place at Avalon Country Club at Squaw Creek in Vienna. Invitations will be extended for both events.

After completing studies in cosmetology at Casals Aveda Institute, the bride-elect is employed as a stylist at Van Salon in Sewickley, Pa.

The prospective groom earned a degree in special education from Youngstown State University. He is an intervention specialist at Life Skills Center of Youngstown.
