Youngstown, Warren men charged in carjacking
WARREN — Shauntare R. Davis, 25, of East Avondale Avenue, Youngstown, and Christopher L. Foster, 19, of Transylvania Avenue, Warren, have each been charged with aggravated robbery in the carjacking of a 39-year-old Niles man.
The victim said he was in the Trumbull Homes apartments at 1:36 a.m. Sunday looking for a car belonging to him when he was attacked by three black males and a white male.
The men pulled him out of his car at the intersection of North Feederle and South Feederlee avenues and assaulted him, leaving him with injuries to his head and hand. Two of the men had handguns.
They also took his 2002 Ford Crown Victoria, he told police.
Police were called to the same apartment complex at 3:59 a.m. regarding a disturbance and found Davis and Foster. Officers found a pellet gun in a garbage can near Davis and found a stun gun on Foster.
Both men were charged with misdemeanor carrying a concealed weapon.
Police said they realized after arresting Foster and Davis that they matched the description the victim of the carjacking had given of his assailants.
Police also found keys on one of the suspects that matched the keys to the stolen car. Police found the stolen car not far from Foster’s apartment.
A judge Tuesday ordered Davis to jail without eligibility to make bond. Bond of $150,000 was set for Foster.
