Free dog food available through Second Harvest Food Bank

The Mahoning-Shenango Kennel Club (MSKC) donated 400 20-pound bags of super-premium mix dog food, provided by Blackwood Pet Food of Lisbon, to Second Harvest Food Bank of the Mahoning Valley.

The donation was made possible by funds raised from the MSKC’s Annual Dog Show. Rogers Feed Mill of Rogers, Ohio, delivered the 8,000 pounds of dog food free of charge.

The dog food is intended for people in the community suffering financial hardships who need help feeding their dogs to prevent them from starving, being abandoned or sent to a shelter due to inability to feed them.

The Food Bank will distribute the dog food through a network of 153 hunger-relief organizations in Columbiana, Mahoning and Trumbull counties.
