Springfield trustees seek grant to improve Felger Road
NEW SPRINGFIELD
Springfield Township trustees have hired Howland Co. of Youngstown to represent the township in its effort to get an $853,000 Issue Two grant to improve Felger Road.
The company will be paid a pre-determined fee set by the grant. The amount was not available at Wednesday’s trustees meeting.
The proposed project would widen the road to 20 feet; it now varies from 10 to 16 feet and narrows to one lane in parts. The project would also include paving and drainage work. It would start at Calla Road and end at Donaldson Road.
Trustees also hired Ryan Stacey of Petersburg as a part-time road worker, and announced a study of the intersections of Unity Road with Calla, Middletown and South Range roads.
