Pa. borough: White-rights group can't use park

MOOSIC, Pa. (AP) — A northeastern Pennsylvania borough says it will forbid a white-rights group from hosting a celebration in a municipal park this weekend.

The European American Action Coalition wants to use the park in Moosic for its “European American Heritage Celebration.”

Moosic Borough Council President Joseph Mercatili tells The Times-Tribune of Scranton that event organizer Steve Smith claimed to live in Moosic, even though he resides in nearby Pittston. Mercatilli says the borough limits use of the park for organized events to its residents.

Smith did not return a call from The Associated Press.
