YOUNGSTOWN
Energy in Depth-the Ohio Project has created a jobs website focusing on employment opportunities supported by the development of the Utica Shale.
The jobs portal was endorsed by the Youngstown/Warren Regional Chamber, a business-development organization recognizing the potential the oil and gas industry has for the region.
“The Youngstown/ Warren Regional Chamber is excited about the launch of Energy in Depth’s new section on its website that provides links to jobs, careers, education and training for Ohio’s growing oil and gas industry,” said Tony Paglia, the chamber’s vice president of government affairs. “This easily accessible site will be of great benefit to Ohioans and others who are interested in and preparing themselves for the many jobs that are being created in the oil and gas industry.”
The site is designed to connect job seekers with companies and vendors developing oil and natural gas in the Utica Shale, as well as the supply chain that supports those companies.
In addition to connecting Ohioans to the new opportunities — in Pennsylvania, the jobs are providing an average wage of $81,000 per year in core industries, according to Energy In Depth-Ohio — the site also provides an understanding or what degrees or certifications are needed for the industry.
The site is www.EIDOhio.org/jobsite.
