Pittsburgh-area man killed when he answers his door

MCKEESPORT, Pa. (AP) — Police are searching for a suspect who fatally shot a man who answered a knock at his door in a crime-ravaged Pittsburgh suburb.

McKeesport police and Allegheny County homicide detectives say the dead man is 20-year-old Jabar Ford.

Police say he was shot once in the chest when he answered the door about 11 p.m. Monday at his home in McKeesport, about 10 miles southeast of Pittsburgh.

That city has been plagued by shootings and other street violence in recent weeks.

Police have not named any suspects or made any arrests.
