Columbiana schools levy rejected 963-427
COLUMBIANA
Voters rejected a 1.237-mill bond issue for the Columbiana School District in a special election Tuesday.
Unofficial election results from both Columbiana and Mahoning counties show 963 votes cast against the measure and 427 in favor. A precinct each in Beaver and Springfield townships is part of the school district.
The 29-year bond issue was to raise $4 million for improvements to the South Side Middle School and its grounds.
The school district was the only Mahoning Valley entity with an issue for a special election. Two measures in Newton Falls were previously withdrawn from the ballot.
