10-year-old Pa. boy charged in home invasion
PHILADELPHIA (AP) — A 10-year-old Philadelphia boy has been charged with entering a neighbor’s home and assaulting the woman with rocks and a rope.
And police say he’s the oldest of three suspects.
They are also seeking a 7- and 9-year-old in Monday’s home invasion.
Capt. John Gallagher says the trio made off with just $20 after rifling through the apartment and throwing a potted plant at the woman.
Gallagher says the 10-year-old had been taunting the 51-year-old victim in their Juniata neighborhood.
Children under 10 cannot face criminal charges, except for murder, in Pennsylvania.
But the younger suspects could still be referred for services.
Police say the victim suffered cuts and bruises on her head and body.
It’s not clear if the 10-year-old has a lawyer or will be detained before a family-court hearing.
