Photo exhibition at the McDonough

YOUNGSTOWN

An opening reception for Mytown, a photo exhibition, will begin at 2 p.m. Saturday at the McDonough Museum of Modern Art, 525 Wick Ave., where the exhibition will be on display through Aug. 25.

It’s free to the public.

Mytown, a joint project of the McDonough and youths from an Ursuline Sisters program, brought together 13 middle- and high-school students this summer.

Working with a photographer, educators and community leaders, the students went on photo shoots to 14 locations.

The exhibition includes more than 70 photos. It will travel to several other venues in the Mahoning Valley, with photos being featured on four billboards on South Avenue from Aug. 27 to Sept. 21.

Mytown is the first in a series of projects related to the Living As Form exhibition at the McDonough.
