SHARON, Pa.

Shenango Valley Young Professionals, in conjunction with the Shenango Valley Chamber of Commerce, are hosting their second annual “Lucky Ducky Race” at 2 p.m. Saturday in downtown Sharon.

The race will take place in tandem with the 10th annual Downtown Sharon Car Cruise, sponsored by the Greater Sharon Associates.

In the event’s inaugural year, more than 2,000 ducks were sold with proceeds benefiting area charities. The race will commence with rubber ducks being dropped in the river at the State Street Bridge and will end just south of the Connelly Boulevard Bridge.

Ducks will be sold for $5 each, and the cash prize for the race-winning duck will be $1,000.

Proceeds benefit the Community Food Warehouse of Mercer County, Shenango River Watchers and the Community Library of the Shenango Valley.

Tickets are on sale at Shenango Valley Chamber of Commerce in Sharon or McDermott’s Minuteman Press of Hermitage.
