Astro Falcons 15, Central Long Islands Rams 4 — Dylan Duchek tripled, doubled and scored three runs as the Falcons advance to today’s championship game. Kevin Sierra, Matt Unkefer and Chris Wastchak each had two hits.
Creekside Fitness 13, Norwood 6 — Jared Wiesen had three hits, three RBIs and one run while Zarley Zalenski had three hits and one run. For Norwood, Raymond Cekus, James Doherty and CJ Duffek had two hits apiece.
Astro Falcons 11, Martin Oil 0 — For Astro Falcons, Dan Popio’s three hits included a triple. He scored three runs while GJ Senchak and Chris Wastchak had two hits and two RBIs each.

Junior League Ages 13-14
Aleah Hughes pitched four perfect innings as Poland defeated Indiana (South Bend) 6-4 in the Junior League regional tournament at Akron’s Firestone Stadium. Maddie Rowe drove in two runs. Hughes struck out eight Indiana hitters as the Ohio state champions built a 5-0 lead. Ally Deemer worked the final three innings and allowed two hits and four unearned runs with four strikeouts. Rowe drove in Arlia Duarte, who tripled in the second, with a ground out. She hit a sacrifice fly to center in the sixth inning plating Kristyn Svetlak, who tripled to open the inning after Indiana scored three times in the bottom of the fifth to cut the lead to 5-3. Abby Masluk gave Poland a 1-0 lead in the first when she reached on a bunt single, stole second and went to third on an overthrow. She scored when a pickoff attempt from the catcher sailed into left field. Poland scored three times in the fifth. Megan Marsico belted a triple down the left-field line and scored on a passed ball. Poland continues pool play today at 10 a.m. against Wisconsin and on Monday at 5:30 p.m. against Missouri. The top two teams in each pool advance to Tuesday’s semifinals at 1 and 4:30 p.m. Those winners will meet Wednesday at 2 p.m. with the winner advancing to the Junior Softball World Series from Aug. 12-18 in Kirkland, Wash.
