Greenway sealing
cortland
Reese Services was awarded the bid to seal the Western Reserve Greenway from the Oakfield Trailhead at 1328 Hyde-Oakfield Road in Bristol Township to the Ashtabula County line. Jim Reese, the owner, purchased a new 10-foot spray bar to facilitate the job.
“The investment in new equipment made our operations more cost-effective. I was able to put down two coats of sealer instead of one,” he said. “I wanted to make sure that this valuable recreational resource was properly protected.”
The funds for the sealing and striping of the Greenway came from the “Wildlife On Wheels” Bike Ride Committee.
Travel warning
youngstown
The Better Business Bureau is warning consumers about deceptive travel-related offers.
Consumers have contacted the BBB to inquire about travel companies that promise “too-good-to-be-true” travel deals. These offers arrive unexpectedly in consumers’ mailboxes, or over the telephone, office fax machine or Internet.
Typically, the consumer is told that they have won a free trip and must call a number to claim a prize. Or consumers receive a fax at their place of business promoting an unbelievable vacation deal that looks as if it came through inter-office channels. Others were contacted by someone offering a travel-club membership, supposedly worth thousand of dollars.
Center renamed
boardman
As the center prepares to celebrate the opening of the brand-new rehabilitation unit, Briarfield of Boardman will mark the event with a new name and become Vista Center of Boardman. Since the change of ownership in 2011, the center has been operating under its registered name, and the decision was made to use the name of a sister facility in Columbiana County.
JADCO, a local family-owned business with more than 30 years of experience in rehabilitation and long-term care, owns Vista Center of Boardman, Vista Center in Lisbon, Autumn Hills and Manor at Autumn Hills in Niles, Victoria House in Austintown and Briarfield at The Ridge in Mineral Ridge.
