Marijuana sentencing

JOHNSTOWN, PA.

A 61-year-old Hanoverton, Ohio, woman is facing up to 40 years in federal prison and up to a $5 million fine after pleading guilty to conspiring to possess and distribute 220 pounds or more of marijuana between March 2009 and May 2011.

Bonnie L. Chapman, who entered her plea last week, will be sentenced by U.S. District Court Judge Kim R. Gibson at 10:30 a.m. Dec. 4, the U.S. attorney said.

The case was investigated by the FBI, the IRS, Pennsylvania State Police and various local police departments in Ohio and Pennsylvania.

Shot in Brookfield

BROOKFIELD

A 31-year-old Sharon, Pa., man was treated at St. Elizabeth Health Center and later released to Trumbull County jail after he was shot in a parking lot outside Rock-a-Billie’s bar, 759 Brookfield Ave., about 2:30 a.m. Saturday. No other injuries were reported.

After being released from the hospital, Dana Borders was jailed on a warrant unrelated to the shooting, Brookfield police said.

Police responded to a report of numerous shots being fired outside the bar, recovered several shell casings from the parking lot and discovered that one occupied vehicle and several unoccupied vehicles had been struck by gunfire.

Police continue to investigate the shooting.

Ohio Grown workshop
