Scrappers take series against Lake Monsters

BURLINGTON, VT

With their 2-0 victory over the Lake Monsters on Friday night, the Mahoning Valley Scrappers left Vermont with their sixth series win of the year.

Luis DeJesus pitched seven innings of three-hit ball with six strikeouts to stay undefeated with his fourth win.

Jack Wagoner pitched a perfect ninth with two strikeouts for the save.

Jairo Kelly’s RBI single that scored Erik Gonzalez opened up the early lead in the fourth inning. The next and last run came on Robel Garcia’s RBI single that scored Richard Stock.
