Marc Adams to speak at PFLAG program

Youngstown PFLAG, St. John’s Episcopal Church and the First Unitarian Universalist Church of Youngstown are sponsoring a program by Marc Adams at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at St. John’s, 323 Wick Ave. The wrong day was given in Friday’s Club Calendar.

Those attending are asked to use the entrance to the parish house at the back of the church.

Adams is the author of nine books, a respected authority on the subjects of fundamentalism, the religious right and gay civil rights, and the founder of the nonprofit organization HeartStrong, a social justice organization providing hope and help to gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender students who are persecuted in religious educational institutions. His newest book, “It’s Not About You: Understanding Coming Out & Self Acceptance,” deals with the issue of disclosure reaction.
