Background: In the early 1970s, Pastor Richard Diamond and his wife, Alwilda, of Faith Revivals in Mansfield, attended a crusade in Atlanta and toured a historical wax museum. In May 1980, the ministry moved to Tingley Avenue and Diamond Hill Chapel. The couple began working on a religious wax museum. In 1983, scenes of the Last Supper, Jesus and the children, and the woman at the well were displayed at the nondenominational church, now renamed Diamond Hill Cathedral. The congregation decided to build a museum; it opened Aug. 15, 1987.
