Brian Henke, an award-winning guitarist, will play during a service at 11 a.m. Sunday at Unity Centre for Spiritual Living, 1226 Naylor Lloyd Road. A corn roast will follow at noon. The social committee asks those attending to bring a covered dish and/or dessert. Hamburgers, hot dogs, veggie burgers, corn, drinks and tableware will be supplied. Henke will give an outdoor concert at 1:30. Those attending should bring lawn chairs. Henke has been a finalist in the prestigious National Fingerstyle Contest and National Guitarmageddon Regionals.

In case of inclement weather, the concert will be indoors. The event is free, but donations will be accepted.

The Diocese of Youngs-town Office of Religious Education will have an orientation meeting for the Loyola University New Orleans Institute for Ministry Extension (LIMEX) Program from 6 to 9 p.m. Aug. 14 at St. Columba Cathedral hall, 154 W. Wood St. The date was incorrect in a previous announcement. Prospective students will get an overview of the program of graduate ministry education, sign a learning agreement, register for Course One: “Introduction to Practical Theology,” and schedule the sessions. The Eastern District and Union Baptist Church are hosting the Ohio Baptist State Convention Congress of Christian Education at the church, 528 Lincoln Ave. Pastor Ernest Ellis is district moderator for the event from Monday through Friday. Pastor Michael H. Harrison Sr. will deliver a message at a consecration service Monday; there will not be communion as previously announced.

Doris Justice Ministries will conduct a dedication at noon today at 628 Oak Hill Ave. Pastor Jack W. Pettis of Mount Zion Baptist Church will dedicate forthcoming services to God. Prayer is planned from noon to 1 p.m. Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. Services will be conducted by Doris and Ronald Justice.

At 5 p.m. Sunday, a program will include superintendent Elder Mishael Phillips of Phillips Temple COGIC, Vidalia, Ga.; Elder Winton Philips of Unity COGIC, Dublin, Ga.; Elder Jessie Wilson, Center of Deliverance Christian COGIC, Wahiawa, Hawaii; and Elder James Axel, Tabernacle of Faith, Havre Degrace, Md.
