The Poland Junior Women’s Club hosted its annual summer concerts for seniors at the Poland Village Town Hall July 29. The event is part of a series from the second week of June until the first week in August.
“I love it and what’s nice is they enjoy it and they look forward to it. We enjoy it, too. Being out here and being with the community, it’s nice. It also adds to the beautification of the community, which is part of our mission statement,” said Poland Jr. Women’s Club Concert Chair, Diana Weaver.
The concert took place during excellent weather and seniors were thrilled to pull out their lawn chairs and enjoy music from the band, Manaco.
“We enjoy the music. We see so many of our friends and it’s so nice,” said Toni Steinke.
Band Leader Rocco Manaco, who has been performing music for 58 years, was just as excited to perform as patrons were to listen.
“It’s something that I really enjoy doing. These guys have been with me for the last 25 years. It gives me pride to entertain seniors because I know they really enjoy it,” Manaco said.
