New faces, new places: Roster changes have become a staple of Eric Wolford’s tenure and this year’s camp roster shouldn’t be any exception. While the final roster won’t be released until today, a source did reveal some early changes. Cornerback Devont’a Davis, who left the team earlier this summer, is back on the roster. Davis appeared in seven games last fall, including five starters, as a redshirt freshman transfer from Miami (Fla.). Also, Ursuline High graduate Dale Peterman is academically eligible. After two junior college stints, the cornerback sat out last season trying to regain his eligibility in hopes of joining the Penguins for the final two years of his eligibility. The roster will also have transfers from Bowling Green and South Florida as well as a pair of junior college transfers.

Better than 50/50: The preseason favorite has won the Missouri Valley Football Conference title in 14 of the 26 previous polls. UNI was picked to win last year’s poll but finished second to North Dakota State, this year’s choice.
