Man shot to death in New Castle

A man was shot to death outside the Elks Club on Moravia Street in New Castle, Pa., police said.

New Castle Police said that 1:49 a.m. Friday, an officer in the area heard shots coming from the club.

Officers arrived to find a large crowd fleeing from the parking lot.

Marcus Edward Smith, 36, was lying in the parking lot with several gunshot wounds, police said. They did not provide an address for Smith.

He was taken to Jameson Memorial Hospital, where he died.
