Lucky ducky race to benefit charities

SHARON, PA.

In conjunction with the Shenango Valley Chamber of Commerce, Shenango Valley Young Professionals is sponsoring the second annual Lucky Ducky Race at 2 p.m. Aug. 11 in downtown Sharon.

This event runs at the same time as the 10th annual Downtown Sharon Car Cruise, sponsored by the Greater Sharon Associates. The race begins with rubber ducks being dropped in the river at the State Street Bridge and will end just south of the Connelly Boulevard Bridge.

Ducks will be sold at $5 each and the cash prize for the first place duck will be $1,000.

Proceeds will benefit the Community Food Warehouse of Mercer County, Shenango River Watchers, and the Community Library of the Shenango Valley.
