Members of The Ohio Gymnastics Institute, Gloria Hartzell, Kasey Solic, Stefani Christy, Emily Wyant, Madison Leone, Alexis Palone, Madison Christy and Kenzie Solic each placed in several competitions at the AAU Group National Competition in Wisconsin Dells, Wis. June 20.

“We’re very proud of all their efforts. These girls put everything together and shined at the right time,” said Ohio Gymnastics owner, Ron Ferris.

Each participant took home several medals after placing in events, including Vault, Bar, Uneven Bar, Beam, Floor and All Around.

Kasey Solic, who is a level 8 national champion, won first on vault, second on uneven bars and balance beam, third on floor exercise and first all around. Emily Wyant is a modified optional national champion. She won first on vault, uneven bars, and floor exercise and second on balance beam. Kenzie Solic took second on vault and uneven bars, and third all around as a level 5 competitor. Gloria Hartzell won first on uneven bars, third on floor exercise, and fifth all around as a level 4 competitor. Madison Leone won first on floor exercise, second on uneven bars, third on balance beam and third all around. Stefani Christy won second on balance beam. Madison Christy earned a score of 35.5 in the all around competition. Alexis Palone earned a score of 36.05 in all around. Though winning was an accomplishment for all the athletes, some also use it as fuel for improvement to do better in the next competition.

“When I go to competitions and I do really good it just makes me want to do better. When it starts getting harder you just have to push it to the limit,” said Stefani Christy.
