The Cornersburg Dairy Queen celebrated Miracle Treat Day by raising funds for the Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals, donating $1 for every Blizzard sold July 26. All the proceeds were donated to the local Akron Children’s Hospital.
“It’s an annual event to raise money for Children’s Miracle Network. The Dairy Queen funds go straight to the local hospital. It’s terrific because at one point in our life, we’ll either know someone or have kids that need help. We want to give back,” said Dairy Queen Consultant Mark Briner.
Children played games of chance, picked out their own rubber ducks and jumped around in a bounce house while enjoying their favorite frozen treat. Some volunteers were just excited to see the childrens’ faces light up while they enjoyed the warm weather outside.
“I love being with the kids because they’re so cute and seeing them win prizes warms your heart. It makes me feel very lucky to be able to help for such a cause,” said Fitch High School volunteer Marian DeFuria.
Although the event was full of excitement and fun for kids, few forgot just how vital it is to support a children’s hospital.
“I understand the value of having a children’s hospital. It’s really nice to give back to the community,“ said Cornersburg franchisee Ray Smith.
