The Canfield Cardinals 8U travel baseball team was crowned champions in its age division at the 2012 Boardman Community Baseball Tournament July 22. The 12-team single-elimination tournament was played the week of July 16 at the Fields of Dreams.
The Cardinals went undefeated on its road to the championship game, first beating Poland 14-2, then Howland Black 7-4. The team then defeated Boardman Black 12-0 and Howland Orange 10-6. The Cards advanced to the championship game to play Howland Black, defeating them 3-2 to win the tournament.
