Breast-feeding event is Saturday in Canfield

CANFIELD — Local moms and families will be participating in a world record-breaker attempt event Saturday.

For the second year, the Mahoning Valley Moms will be one of more than 500 locations worldwide for the Big Latch On!

The Big Latch On is an event to support, educate, and provide awareness about the importance of breast-feeding. Every year, in honor of World Breastfeeding Week, women around the world gather to break the record for number of women simultaneously breast-feeding.

This year, the local event is supported by Mahoning Valley Moms and Salem-Lisbon La Leche League. There will be food and prizes to be given away.

The Mahoning Valley Big Latch On will be at Fair Park in Canfield. Participants should arrive by 10 a.m. to register and get settled in. The official count starts at exactly 10:30 and will last for one minute.
