Little Falcons still accepting players

The Austintown Little Falcons are still accepting signups for their 100-pound football team. Kids are welcome to register for the team at the practices which take place at the Austintown Township athletic fields located on Kirk Road to the West of Austintown Township Park, Monday-Thursday,6-8 p.m. Kids must be aged 6-8 years old and 6 years old on or before July 31. The registration fee is $45 for the first child and $20 only for additional members of the same family. A $50 mandatory fundraiser is also in place for all children. Fitch girls tennis tryouts are Aug. 6-7

Any girl interested in trying out for the Austintown Fitch girls tennis team should contact Coach Ward at aust_sw@access-k12.org. Open courts are going on now and tryouts are Aug. 6 and 7 from 8-11 a.m.

Old Dutch Mill to host charity scramble

A golf scramble will be held today at the Old Dutch Mill Golf Course, 2745 Grandview Road, Lake Milton, in honor of Michael “Bub” Markota. The youth, who has Down Syndrome, recently graduated from Western Reserve High School. All proceeds will benefit the Multiple Disabilities program at Western Reserve High School.

The cost is $65 per person for advance tickets and $75 per person the day of the event. There must be four people per team. Tickets include lunch, dinner, and beverages. There will be cash awards and 50/50 raffle tickets, as well as baskets. For more information, call Dave Markota at 330-503-8534.

BB Baseball to host camp

BB Baseball will be conducting an instructional camp on Aug. 5 at the Westminster College baseball field in Wilmington, Pa.

The camp instructors will be Westminster head baseball coach Tim Mulligan and professional baseball scout and head coach at Carnegie Mellon University, Claudio Reilsono. The camp will cover all aspects of the game and will begin at 10 a.m. and end at 1 p.m.

Fitch boys golf tryouts to be held

Tryouts for Fitch boys golf team will be held at Deer Creek Golf Course on Aug. 6-9 at 8 a.m. Any boys interested in trying out for the golf team must have a current physical on record at the athletic office and should contact Coach Santor at 330-793-6760 or fitchgolfcoach@yahoo.com.

Clipper cross country events start Aug. 1

The 14th annual Clipper Cross Country Series — a four-date event — will take place at Columbiana High School beginning Wednesday.

Other dates are Aug. 8, Aug. 15 and Aug. 22, all Wednesdays at 7 p.m., for pre-middle school, middle school, high school, open masters and grand masters divisions.

Registration is $4 per runner.

Funds raised support the Columbiana Clipper track and cross country programs.
