Mahoning County grand jury indicts 4 on gang-related activities

YOUNGSTOWN — A Mahoning County grand jury handed up indictments against four city men for alleged participation in criminal gang activity.

The four — Adrien German, 20, West Philadelphia Avenue; Christian Oliver, 19, East Delason Avenue; Terrance Sly, 26, Champlain Avenue; and Blake Valentin, 18, East Philadelphia Avenue — have been indicted on multiple counts of possession of cocaine, tampering with evidence, perjury, illegal conveyance of items onto grounds of a detention facility, and participating in a criminal gang.

Martin Desmond, an assistant county prosecutor, said today the four men are members of the Boss Boys gang, which operated on the city’s South Side. The gang is not believed to be affiliated with any national gang.

Desmond said Sly is believed to be the gang leader.
