Honaker indicted on murder charge, pleads innocent

WARREN

A Trumbull County grand jury indicted Royce Honaker on a murder charge this morning.

It came two days after he is accused of killing his wife, Donna, at their Southington home.

Honaker, 60, was arraigned at just before noon in the Trumbull County Courthouse. His attorney, David Rouan, entered an innocent plea for him. Honaker’s bond was set at $1 million

Honaker talked briefly with Rouan, of the public defender’s office, before the hearing began. He became emotional then and also while standing before Judge Peter Kontos during the arraignment. He cried but didn’t say anything and didn’t comment as he was led away by deputies after the hearing.

The charge carries a possible penalty of 18 years to life in prison.
