YOUNGSTOWN
The jury in the aggravated vehicular homicide and aggravated vehicular assault trial of Christopher Kelso is expected to view the scene of the Feb. 3, 2010, fatal crash in the 700 block of Wilson Avenue and hear opening statements from prosecuting and defense lawyers this morning.
In the 2 a.m. crash, Kelso, 32, of East Midlothian Boulevard, was driving a car that police said went left of center, struck a utility pole and landed upside down, trapping its three occupants inside. A passenger, Pamela Kennedy, 28, of Boardman, was killed. Kelso and another passenger, Javier Colon, 29, of Youngstown, were injured. The trial is before Judge Lou A. D’Apolito of Mahoning County Common Pleas Court.
Exit ramp closed
MILTON
Interstate 76 westbound exit ramp to state Route 534 in Milton Township is closed beginning this week through mid-August for roadway construction. The detour will be Bailey Road to Mahoning Avenue.
Farmers market
Warren
The Lake-To-River Food Cooperative will host a farmers market from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. today at the St. Joseph Minor Emergency and Diagnostic Center, 1296 Tod Ave NW.

Fall classes set

Fall-semester classes begin Aug. 20 at Eastern Gateway Community College, and to help incoming students, an Information Day will be at the college’s Valley Center from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday.
Admissions representatives will review the admissions process and the classes and programs at Eastern Gateway. Mahoning Valley students are qualifying for free tuition with the college’s new Gateway Grant, and information about the grant and its requirements will be reviewed.
Participants will learn about the process to apply and enroll at the college, options for financial aid and other issues.
The Valley Center is on the fourth floor of the Choffin Career and Technical Center, 200 E. Wood St. The center will move to downtown Youngstown in the Plaza Place for the start of fall classes.
